So many downloads

Hi everyone,

well, I just want to thank everyone who has downloaded Sure is the Risk Made so far, and for all your wonderful, kind comments about it. I think in the first three days since putting up the album, I had over a thousand copies downloaded from my own direct mirror alone, and that is not counting the other mirrors (kindly provided by Screeb, Spitter and Gedanken), the individual mp3s, songs listened to at Bandcamp, last.fm, and other such places. Thank you so much for helping to make this album so successful and please keep sharing it with people who you think might enjoy it!

On that particular note, it would be really great if we could push the album even a little further still. I don’t want to turn it into some hideously irritating thing that gets spammed everywhere, but if you guys can think of any relevant music blogs, review sites/magazines, forums, etc etc, where you think the album might find people who will like it, please do recommend it there.

All I want out of this enterprise is for people to hear my music who might enjoy it, and obviously with no “real” label or promotion budget behind me, I can only really mainly rely on friends recommending to friends. Fortunately, this is absolutely the best way for music to find its way to the people who will enjoy it most: not hype, just passionate people sharing the wealth. This isn’t a means to and end; it’s an end in itself: i’m not trying to get signed, or giving the music away so that I can charge for more music later, I’m just trying to get the music to where it needs to be. So, if nothing else, if you think someone you know will like the album, burn em a copy, or point em at the website.

Remember, I’m also on Twitter – so do follow me there and you will be kept updated of anything I’m doing in the future, which includes quite a few things! And if you have any comments or remarks or things to say, either tweet at me or throw me an email. I do always reply within a reasonable period of time, but check your spam filter in case my email has been swallowed.

Second album released

Hi all,

Well, almost exactly two years to the day that I put out Function Creep, my second album, Sure is the Risk Made is finished. I am very happy with this album, and it is, of course, free for you to download. It sounds quite different from Function Creep, and I think there is more variety in the songs this time around. There’s some of my most accessible work on it, but also some of the most violent and vicious.

I’m too tired now to talk about the process of making it in any detail – but just trust me that if you download it, and put it on, you should have a good time.

Thanks to everyone for supporting me and downloading my stuff, I really do appreciate it. Be sure to share it with other people who might like it.

New site design & SA frontpage

Hello.

I’ve decided to use a wordpress blog as a neat and tidy and easy way to keep the news part of the Conelrad site up to date. I’ve also moved the info from the ‘About’ section on the old site to the ‘About’ section here, oddly enough.
